Residential construction starting in October 2017

We are very excited that construction of residential sections is scheduled to start in October this year. After consultation with our bank funders, we will be building Stage 1 in two sub stages. Stage 1A will be constructed first and will start in October.

We now have 50 lots sold in stage 1A with only 43 remaining for sale. Residential lot prices are likely to go up next year so don’t wait to secure one of the most affordable sections in North Canterbury.

A copy of the stage 1 map can be viewed or downloaded from the Ravenswood website here

Construction of the Ravenswood town centre is proceeding according to schedule and we are delighted to see the progress being made by the civil construction team from City Care.

Only 9 industrial lots left for sale
There continues to be a lot of interest generated in the light industrial lots at Ravenswood as a result of our current advertising campaign.

Of the 36 lots put on the market we now have 23 lots sold unconditionally and 4 under contract, leaving only 9 lots left for sale.

If you have been considering one of these lots, don’t leave it too long to talk to us as we expect these will all be sold soon. There will be no more of these lots so it really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get in early in the development and secure your own commercial property.

They have a fantastic location close to McDonalds, New World and BP with easy access directly off State Highway 1 where 18,000 cars a day drive past.

18 January 2017
The Christchurch Northern Corridor roading project is about to start. This project combines the Transport Agency’s Northern Arterial (a new section of SH74 running from just south of the Waimakariri River to QEII Drive near Winters Rd) and two Christchurch City Council projects that link QEII Drive to Cranford St and four-lane Cranford St to Innes Rd. When completed, this will substantially ease traffic congestion and improve cycle and pedestrian access between Christchurch and the Waimakariri District.

From Tuesday 7 February Winters Road will be closed to all traffic between house numbers 137 and 143. This is to begin building the pedestrian subway to maintain pedestrian and cyclist access along Winters Road beneath the new Christchurch Northern Corridor motorway.

Stay up to date with local road closures on the NZTA website: http://www.nzta.govt.nz/projects/christchurch-motorways/christchurch-northern-corridor

We now have confirmed bank funding from BNZ in place to start construction of the commercial precinct. We expect earthworks to commence in the first quarter of 2017.

Bank funding for the residential stage 1 area will be confirmed early in 2017 once we have reached our sales target and we're only 30 section sales away from achieving that.

We have also recently called for tenders for the civil works for the commercial and industrial precinct. Preparations for the new centre, which will serve a direct catchment of over 12,000 people, will include major earthworks, roading, services – including fibre internet, stormwater management, and the realignment of the Taranaki stream.

The civil works for 197 residential sections in stage 1 has already been tendered.

The commercial area designs are almost finalised and we're now working with prospective tenants.

Of the 36 light industrial lots that have been released, 13 are now sold with a further 13 under offer.

We are close to meeting our commercial sales targets which means construction of the commercial area should start soon.

Following last week’s release of 36 light industrial lots at Ravenswood, 12 lots now have contracts signed, with back up offers already in place on some of these. Jenny Lake, Sales Manager at Ravenswood, said the interest in the light industrial area has been fantastic, and with only 36 lots in total these will be fully sold out within a very short time.

These lots are an excellent opportunity for entry into the commercial property market and are perfect for small businesses that want to set up new or larger premises on their own land. The lots have been tailored to provide a range in sizes and prices depending on your business needs, and are priced to meet the market  starting at $150,000 + GST if any.

New World supermarket, BP Connect service station and Wild Bean Cafe, and McDonald's restaurant have already committed to the commercial area at Ravenswood. This is a high profile location adjacent to State Highway 1, and centrally located to be the main commercial hub for all towns in the Waimakariri District with a population of over 50,000.
